To install this burner pan, you simply drop it into your fire feature's opening, where it will rest against a built-in or added ledge. Once installed, your fire media will rest on the pan, making it easily visible. By having the pan at the top of the fire feature, the space below is left empty, which greatly improves air flow. This is especially helpful for propane-fueled fires, which require oxygen to keep their flames burning. This empty space also means less spending for you, as you are not required to use fillers, such as sand or lava rock, to ensure your beautiful fire media rests at the top of your fire feature where it can best be seen.

When planning and designing your fire pit, it is important to follow proper guidelines. The fire pit should be installed in outdoor approved locations only, with a properly sized gas line based on the BTU of the appliance. Proper clearances should be maintained, and the enclosure must incorporate two air vents with a minimum of 18 square inches on each side of the pit. Additional ventilation may be required based on the material, size, and use of the enclosure.

To calculate the amount of fire glass needed for your fire pit, we provide a simple calculator. For circular or rounded fire pits or fire bowls, the formula is: Diameter x Diameter x Depth, divided by 24 = pounds of fire glass needed. For square or rectangular fire pits, the formula is: Width x Length x Depth, divided by 19 = pounds of fire glass needed. We recommend a minimum of 2 inches of fire glass depth for most installations.
